How posting works

What happens when you post a job with us, from writing it to hiring someone. If your question is not here, get in touch.

Posting a job

How do I post a job?
Create an account, add your business details, and subscribe. From your dashboard, choose "Add a job" and fill in the title, town, category, pay and description. Your post goes to us for review before it appears on the site.
How long until my job is live?
We review new posts within about 4 hours during business hours. You get an email either way -- if we publish it, and if we cannot, with the reason so you can edit and resubmit.
Why is there a review step at all?
So the board stays worth reading. A job seeker who finds three dead or fake listings stops coming back, and that costs every employer on the site.
How many jobs can I post?
As many as you want. One plan at $29 a month covers unlimited job posts, for as long as you need them.

After it goes live

Where does my job actually get seen?
Four places. On the site, including your town and category pages. On Google, through structured data that makes it eligible for Google Jobs. In email, to every job seeker following your town or category. And on our Facebook page, which local people already follow.
Why did my job not post to Facebook straight away?
Facebook posts go out the morning after approval and are spread through the day. A job approved at 2am would reach almost nobody if it posted immediately -- batching means every post lands while people are actually awake. It is deliberate, not a delay.
Do my job posts expire?
No. Posts are automatically refreshed every 30 days, which updates the posted date and moves the listing back to the top of its category. You do not need to do anything.
Can I edit or take down a job after it is live?
Yes. Edit or archive any post from your dashboard at any time. Archiving takes it off the site immediately.

Applications and results

How do I see who applied?
Applications land in your dashboard under Applications, and we email you as soon as each one arrives, with the applicant’s details and their resume if they attached one. You can mark each as viewed, contacted or rejected as you work through them.
How do I know whether my post is working?
Each job has a report showing page views, apply clicks and applications since it was posted, along with where that traffic came from -- Facebook, Google, an alert email, or direct. It also confirms the job actually went out: a link to the Facebook post, how many job seekers were emailed, and whether Google has been notified.

Billing and cancelling

How does billing work?
One flat rate of $29 a month for unlimited job posts. No per-post fees and no charge for applications.
How do I cancel?
Cancel any time from your dashboard. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.
What happens to my job posts if I cancel?
Your active posts are archived automatically when the subscription ends, so they come off the site. They are not deleted -- if you subscribe again you can reactivate them from your dashboard.
